Non-existent Shadows
Non-existent Shadows
This project explores the fading connection between humans and the natural world - a bond that was once deeply rooted, but has nearly vanished amid the realities of urban life.
In shaping the environment to serve our needs, we have displaced not only other forms of life but also our own ability to remain in touch with the living world. Our dependence on nature goes beyond the physical; it is emotional, intuitive. We long for the shade of trees, the stillness of the forest, the sensations that concrete landscapes can never fully replace.
Created using the cyanotype process on nettle fabric, the works capture the shadows of trees cast onto the forest floor - fleeting imprints of a presence we are slowly losing sight of.
